OM(ovies)FG - Savages

 Movie goers are in for a treat on July 6th when Oliver Stone's Savages makes its debut to the big screen. It's sure to be an action-packed Mexican drug lord thriller. Via IMDB the plot is simple but intriguing: "Pot growers Ben and Chon face off against the Mexican drug cartel who kidnapped their shared girlfriend." The cast includes some heavy hitters like John Travolta, Salma Hayek, & Benicio Del Toro. Two of the lesser-known main characters are played by Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass) & Taylor Kitsch (of Friday Night Lights & Battleship).

 The person that I am also very excited to see is Blake Lively. Being a huge fan of hers, it's always nice to see her in rougher roles than her everyday appearance as Serena van der Woodsen on the CW's Gossip Girl (I'm thinking back to her rougher role in The Town.) Here is an Access Hollywood interview with Blake and Salma where they talk about how the 2 female characters that they play are actually the strongest characters in the film. This is one sexy way to show girl power:

Just announced via No Doubt on youtube, their new album will FINALLY be coming out on September 25th this year!! I have been a fan of them for so many years and even got to see them VIP last time they came through Atlanta! I'm so excited! Watch the band announce the news here:

OM(usic)FG - Sleeper Agent SOLD OUT in Atlanta!

Oh, this post has been a long time coming! Last year I was at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta to see the band Company of Thieves play. My friend really wanted to see them. While we were waiting for them to come on, another band was playing that completely BLEW ME AWAY! Their name is Sleeper Agent and I couldn't have been more excited to hear their refreshing music. Alex, the grrrl lead singer, reminded me of a mixture of Brody Dale from the Distillers and well..something just damn awesome. I talked with her after the show and she was just so cool and full of good energy. The whole band is just pure talent. The drummer was crazy good. I was just so happy to see them because it's been a long time since I've heard a band that I could just fall in love with after the first song. 

Since that performance at Smith's Olde Bar, I have been pumped to see Sleeper Agent making waves in the music biz. They are on the line up for both Coachella & Hang Out Fest this year which is huge! Also, their song 'Get Daddy' is in the new Taco Bell commercial. I can't wait to see where they go next. Currently, they are touring and have a date in Atlanta at Center Stage on March 9th with the band FUN! ((Sorry ATL for the late notice on this one, but it is sadly for us....sold out!)) Anyways, have no fear, I will be alerting you the next time they are in town. In the meantime, check them out!

OMFG - RIP Whitney Houston

It was just reported that Whitney Houston passed away this afternoon at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The details are minimal as of now, but we are staying tuned to TMZ.com to find out as much info as we can. Here is the exact link to the story.

We had actually run into Whitney Houston at a local Publix supermarket in Alpharetta a year or so ago. She wasn't looking too good then, but at the time in the press there was very little going on about her health or drug/past-drug habits. Our thoughts go out to her family and friends and especially to her daughter with whom she was very close with.

OMFG(lam) - Kardashian Nail Polish For The Win!

So, I know, I know....you are tired of hearing about the Kardashians. They are everywhere these days. Not only do they have their reality shows, but they have their clothing line at Sears, silly bands, and now Kardashian Kolor nail polish! Well, even though you are probably saying that you are sick of them, I just don't really believe you. Guys, you probably don't care about this, but girls LISTEN UP! 

I bought two bottles of their new nail polish by Opi at Target. I wanted to test them out and see if this was actually a good product or just a bunch of KDash hype. Well, I was pleasantly surprised!! This nail polish is just rad. I wanted something dark so the first color I chose was Khloe's color called "Khloe Had A Little Lam-Lam." I bought it just coz it was dark, I didn't realize that it was a dark green, but I LOVE it & have never worn any shade of green nail polish before. So it was kinda a cool choice. Since one of my favorite nail-painting-past-times has been dark colors with glitter on top, I also had to purchase Kylie's color called "Rainbow in the S-Kylie." This is absolutely the best glitter nail polish that I have ever used. It's fun because there are all different colors and sizes of glitter specks with the polish. You can just keep painting and painting the same nail until you get the glitter look that you like the best. This is an OMFG approved product! Go get some!

OMF(amous)G - Russell Brand Files for Divorce

Whelp, just in time for the new year, Russell Brand files for divorce from Katy Perry as TMZ just reported.

Apparently this split is coming as a "shock" to Katy Perry, although I don't see how since it's been in the news for weeks now that they have been having problems. The couple had been married for a little over a year. They seemed like such a good pair, but I guess they just didn't "mesh well".

Back in August, the Hard Rock Memorabilia bus came to the Hard Rock cafe in Atlanta. The bus tours around the country, making memorabilia available for fans to see. It's free & a fun experience!

OMF(ilming)G - Kim K. in the ATL!!!

Well, Happy Birthday to me! Kim Kardashian is set to start filiming a movie in Atlanta on October 26th (my birthday)!!! She will join the cast of the new Tyler Perry movie, 'The Marriage Counselor'. "The film tells the story of Judith, an Ivy League-educated relationship expert who makes her living dispensing marital advice, but is so bored with her own marriage that she breaks her professional code and cheats with a smooth talking client only to realize she has made a huge mistake. Jurnee Smollett plays the marriage counselor and Kadashian will play Ava, a co-worker who gives Judith a big city makeover and new confidence as she struggles with her personal issues." Don't worry ATL, I will be on the movie set hunt to try to get a pic!

OMF(ilming)G - Neighborhood Watch Filming in GA *Updated 10/10

More celebrities are rolling into Atlanta, Georiga to film these days! The latest additions are Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Jonah Hill, Will Forte & Billy Crudup. They are in town filming 'Neighborhood Watch.' (*Note: still waiting to officially confirm that Adam Sandler is in the movie, his IMDB page does not list it yet.) This sci-fi-comedy is scheduled to hit theaters in 2012. Filming is just starting up in Marietta & Vince Vaughn has already been spotted around town. Ben Stiller was seen in Midtown getting a pair of his shoes repaired. Rumor is that they are set to film next week in Powder Springs in Amberton subdivision. IMDB states the plot of the movie as: "Suburban dads form a neighborhood watch group to get time away from their families, only to discover a conspiracy." Supposedly their area aliens involved!

OMF(ilming)G - Filming in the ATL

Over the past months, Atlanta has been one of the hot spots for filming. What To Expect When You're Expecting, Vampire Diaries, Walking Dead, and The Three Stooges have been seen filming all around town. And now, we have a new film that will be here in Atlanta until October 7th. It is called the Reluctant Fundamentalist. It stars Keifer Sutherland, Kate Hudson, and Liev Schreiber. It will be filming at 229 Bradbury St tomorrow (Sept. 23) in the Castleberry Hill neighborhood from about 6am to 2pm. You might want to Google that address before just showing up to star-gaze. I see a lot of barbwire fences and such. After the filming wraps in Georgia, the cast will travel to New York & India to finish filming.

Here is a link to the IMDB page for the film. You can see a full description of the plot there. It is based on the novel by the same name. It follows the life of a Princeton student from Pakistan after 9/11.

OM(ovies)FG - Celeb Sightings in ATL 'What To Expect..'

Lots of celebs on the prowl in the ATL lately! Here's the latest: As you have probably heard by now the film, 'What To Expect When You're Expecting' is being filmed in Atlanta. The cast includes: Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Chase Crawford, Chris Rock and more!

One of the filming locations was Smith's Old Bar. They rented out the place to film some scenes. When they weren't filming there, they were also set up on Broad St. in downtown Atlanta, Rag-o-Rama in Little 5, & they filmed inside a house near Little 5 as well. Here are some pics from the Broad St. Location where they had food trucks set up & were putting down fake Fall leaves in the street. Chase took some pictures with fans & it appears that they are using some of the same crew that helped to film The Three Stooges movie.

All last week Chris Rock was filming in Piedmont Park. Yours truly (me!!) was picked to be an extra for the Chris Rock scenes, but had to cancel last minute. There will be more opportunities..right???
 

Local spots that the cast have turned into Hot Spots are: South City Kitchen, Bookhouse Pub, & MF Sushi. Chase Crawford was seen hanging out at Bookhouse Pub before jetting back to film more episodes of Gossip Girl. Cameron Diaz was seen TONIGHT at MF Sushi & has been seen at least twice last week eating at South City Kitchen (SCK) on the patio with her mom & then again the same night with a group of friends. SCK has also served it up to Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman.
Gossip Note: I have heard rumors of a bitterness between Ms. Diaz & J. Lo, but can't confirm anything. I'm pretty sure the two did not even film many (if any) scenes together. If there is drama going on, it's sure to have ended by now. I heard J. Lo wrapped her scenes and headed back to American Idol!

The beautiful, Frances, has now entered into her own. Her stunning good looks are sure to not be the only thing that will get people's attention. OMF(amous)G - Leonardo DiCaprio & The Jersey Shore?!

While the cast of The Jersey Shore were out in L.A., they got to party with one of the best, Leonardo DiCaprio. He came up to the cast & starting quoting the show. "GTL", he said to Pauly D.

Looks like Leo loves the show! Here's a picture of him with JWoww:

In another interview with Snooki, she said that when she first met Leo on the red carpet, she looked at him and said "Wanna come back to my room & watch Titanic with me?" Leo looked and her and laughed and said "Oh my god, shut up. (jokingly)." Great to see that the gang from the shore is fitting in so nicely out in Hollywood.
