OMFG - Coachella: Tupac, Celebs, & Fashion

"Coachella is an epic mega fest and can probably change your life. The festival has gotten so big it has been split into 2 weekends with the exact same lineup." I'm soooo planning to go next year! Who's with me?
Well, besides all of the awesome bands that are performing this year, the hippie fashions and celebs are all the rage! Check out some of the fashions hitting the concert circle this year. This is def a concert to people watch & rock out at!!
And of course, what's a Cochella blog post without mentioning one of the most talked about performances of all times. Dr. Dre & Snoop bringing back Tupac, hologram-style! Can you even imagine what the partiers thought that didn't realize it was a hologram at first? OMFG!
Send us reviews of the performances or your pictures if were able to go!!

OMF(ashion)G - Color Blocking Trend

This spring and summer you will not go wrong with BRIGHT colors. From 80's neon green to rich coral, you will be able to find plenty of examples gracing the runways and streets. If you're not a huge color person, like myself, I suggest sticking with just one loud color and letting it be incorporated throughout your outfit. Why not try mixing a electric blue blouse and shoe, with a charcoal trouser or skirt? If you love color, well great!!! This trend is especially perfect for you. However do not overdo it! Limit your look to no more than three bright, bold colors, to prevent yourself from looking like a walking rainbow!!!

OMF(ashion)G - Paw Pumps!

Have you guys seen these lion paw pumps from Louboutin? I thought they were really weird at first glance, but now they are growing on me. Blake Lively has been seen wearing them along with Jessica Simpson and Sarah Jessica Parker. The price on these is $4,995 dollars, currently looking at some knockoffs that are about $100. The heel on them is crystal studded, which is cool. What are your thoughts on them?
Hit or miss in the fashion world?

OMF(ashion)G - Gwen's New Line: Harajuku Mini For Target

We all have loved Gwen Stefani since she sang with No doubt, serenading us with tales of spider webs, and pink ribbons. Not only did she captivate us with her vocal chords, but also her charisma and cutting-edge fashion sense. Therefore, it was no surprise in 2004 when she launched L.A.M.B, following it up in 2005 with Harajuku Lovers, because this gorgeous dame was born with a sense of style. Over the years the brands have expanded and dominated, but in reality who wants to throw down thirty dollars on a key chain?
Well now the Gwen has made her creations into mini, much more cost-friendly clothing; since she is to release a line at Target on November 13th for the little people in our lives. The line will focus on babies, children, and tweens, but we can sure hope her break into Target will not end there, and we will get full sized love from Gavin’s lady, mother of two, soon! As a mama myself I am elated, because it never hurts to have another excuse to blow my money at Target...

OMF(ashion)G - Spirit Hoods!

FIERCE FOR FALL
Spirit Hoods leads the pack for FW2010

Atlanta’s has already seen “boots with the fur”, but this fall a wilder accessory is on the prowl….
As a natural progression from the Native American inspired appliqué seen this past spring and summer;
Fringe turns to fur and headbands into hoods.
Welcome SPIRIT HOODS.
Luxurious, high-quality, faux fur animal hoods fashioned after some of the most sacred spirit guides in the animal kingdom. Brown Bear, Grey Wolf, and Jaguar are amongst the many hoods available for purchase on the Spirit Hoods website (www.spirithoods.com)

For me, it was love at first nuzzle when I spotted a pair of foxes (no, literally a red fox and silver fox) at the Hudson Jeans and Creative Recreation party at club XS in Las Vegas during the August 2010 Project trade show.
As destiny would have it, I ran into the same couple in the entrance of The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on my way to see a Wolf Mother concert at the pool.
The $130 dollars I shelled out in cash was a small price to pay for a Faux Fur hood that not only looks and feels real, but is a worth-while investment for a statement piece that will last a lifetime.
Grey Wolf was the obvious choice for me and as I slipped my hands into the paw pockets, I felt my inner She-wolf taking over.
In nothing but my bikini and hood (there’s a hidden pocket in the hood for I.D, cash, lip gloss, etc.), my wolf-brother and  I took off to the concert – leaping from ledge to ledge, running through crowded restaurants and surrounding unsuspecting prey at the bar.
The wolves had taken over.
“Spirit Hoods are more than just a wild accessory, they are a symbol of this bond and connection we have to our primal and wild natures” stated on the company website www.spirithoods.com.
Every Spirit Hood is made locally by hand in the Los Angeles based offices and with so much detail put into each one- no two hoods are exactly the same.
A detailed description of the traits the animal spirit possesses also accompanies each hood, which helps to assist in choosing the perfect Spirit Hood connected to the wearer’s personality.
If being on the cutting edge of one of the most dominant trends for FW2010 wasn’t enough;
Spirit Hoods is a socially conscious company that also donates part of their proceeds from internet sales to non-profit organizations around the world to help the spirit animals marked by their Product Blue logo.
(Go to www.spirithoods.com/product-blue for more details)
Join the Tribe and set your Spirit free….

*Spirithoods can already be seen making appearances out in the ATL.

OMF(ashion)G - MY MY MY Atlanta!

The other day on my walk to Starbucks, I noticed a cute vintage clothing store next to The Vortex on Peachtree in Midtown. My friend & I decided to go in and check it out. We were pleasantly surprised! Their collection of merchandise is both new & vintage clothes and accessories. The coolest part about the store, is that a majority of them come from Los Angeles TV & soap opera sets. They also sell new & vintage runway samples. The price range of the items is about $15 and up. You've really gotta look through the whole store to see this marvelous selection.
As their flyer says, "Come in and find your treasure!"
I have been in the store a few times now and the staff is always more than helpful & nice. Rumor has it, they might start doing some fashion events soon. SO keep a look out! My My My Atlanta now officially has OMFG's stamp of approval. Oh! & prices are negotiable, they want you to be able to leave with something that you really love. Check it out! xoxo

OMF(ind of the Month)G - The Hope Store

For those of you who live near or sometimes visit the Alpharetta area, I've found a new store to go to for thrift-ing! At the corner of Old Alabama & Nesbit Ferry Rd, there is a small set of shops & restaurants. New to the mix is The Hope Store.
Similar to Goodwill, you will have to spend some time digging through their selection to find your deal. All of the money made will go to charity. The BEST thing about The Hope Store is the location. It is one of the closest store that you can donate to near the Country Club of the South (which has been home to celebrities such as Whitney Houston and Usher) and other upscale neighborhoods. That's right; that means....Jackpot! The lady checking out in front of me had found a legit Coach bag in perfect condition for $3. So, next time you are OTP, stop by to see if you can find your steal. You can usually see signs on the side of the road leading you to the store. They say "Big Garage Sale This Way".
Good luck & let me know what you are able to find!

OMFG(lamorous) - Drew's New CoverGirl Ad

She's done it again! Drew has sold out the local stores of Covergirl's newest mascara, Lashblast Fusion. Drew Barrymore is probably one of the BEST picks to have advertising for them.
After seeing her new commercial, I was sure to go buy the new product. But sadly, it was sold out! I mean, way to go Drew! But Covergirl......please restock soon. Here is the new ad:
Also, I have to add, that if you are looking for another new mascara to try, Covergirl's Lashblast Length Mascara (the yellow one) is by far the best I have ever used. Try it out & let me know what you think!

What Cleavage? - Senior gets suspended for "sexy" prom dress

A senior from Oxford, AL was suspended after wearing a dress to prom that was deemed inappropriate.  You might think "oh poor girl! she'll never get to have prom again!" But the story goes on...all of the students were told about the dress code THREE times.  The high school senior, Erica DeRamus, apparently doesn't see how her dress violated the dress code.  The dress code states that dresses could not have cleavage that fell below the breastbone, and hems couldn't be more than 6 inches above the knee.

Just watch the video.  I see two very obvious reasons (**ahem cleavage/hemline**) why she was disciplined.

ALSO, she wasn't alone. Out of the 352 students at the prom, 18 violated the dress code. I guess they felt like they were above the rules.  Erica is the only one who chose suspension; the rest chose to be PADDLED! REALLY? When was paddling ok in schools again?

SOUND OFF! I want to know your thoughts on this!
