Street Lurkin & Must Die have released a new remix today to help beef up your playlist. Get on up and download this one. Their take on Kredo's Gate of Fate is a crunchy one, nice melodic intro, long enough for a smooth transistion, heavy break down, wobble your brains out type stuff. Party starts at 11:00 pm

"A true underground dance party for Atlanta night life [it's actually underground]. The genre draws heavily on club culture for inspiration while incorporating other styles of music such as synthpop, nu-disco, and indie electro. The performers of alternative dance are closely identified with their music through a signature style, texture, or fusion of specific musical elements. Alternative dance or indie dance (also referred to as underground dance in the US) is a musical genre that mixes rock subgenres with electronic dance music. This is our hope to bring the UK club culture to you."

Beach House - Bloom

Beach House will be celebrating the release of their 4th record, Bloom, on May 15th. I was so excited when I saw this album was comprised of 10 tracks. Silly, I know, but a 10 track record is a good sign! The songs do not differ much from each other, but the album as a whole is great. It is more of an experience for front to back listening more than picking certain tracks out for measuring. This pop album is drenched in reverb, then polished for your listening pleasure. Mixed at Electric Lady Studios, Bloom has much to offer. Take a deep breath, and pull your head out of all the electro dubstep you've been listening to lately, put Bloom on and tune out. It will be worth it, trust me. (the album cover glows in the dark, kind of like the musical content of the record)

CALLmeKAT - Drunken Unicorn 05/29

Lo-Fi Pop artist CALLmeKAT will be at Drunken Unicorn Tuesday, May 29th. Her strange take on pop music is haunting and inviting altogether. The layering of her vocals on top of old swaying tempos makes her stand out in a world of programmed and quantized rhythms. Certainly one to go check out!

Take a minute and check out some of her tunes here: http://soundcloud.com/pixiebooth/sets/callmekat-songs-from-where/s-aXtXI

Greg Reve - Unveiled E.P. feat Tasha Baxter & Anti Pop Consortium

Unveiled by Greg Reve is a true testament to what electronic music is becoming. Genre spanning production that changes tempos and packs a giant punch. This E.P. is awesome and will make an incredible addition to your playlist. Dubstep, Electro, Break Beat, Drum and Bass, Abstract, and Minimalism are some of the styles you can expect to hear on this release. Very pleased when I heard this one. Definitely OMFG approved.

Birdy Debut Release

At just 15 years old, Birdy is already making waves with her debut release. Her album contains renditions of songs by Bon Iver, The xx, Fleet Foxes, Phoenix, The Postal Service and James Taylor. I was blown away to learn that this kid was only 15. The release is haunting and promising for future work. Her re-work of 1901 is PHENOMENAL, I do not care too much for Phoenix, but I'll listen to her version any day. Take a listen for yourself:

Told You So.

THEESatisfaction - awE naturalE

Where to start? THEESatisfaction, Sub-Pop, Glitch, Funk-Hop, Soul, Alt, Mainstream, Lowstream, All of the above......

This album is a world within itself. It reminds me much of early T.V. on The Radio. The sampled rhythms are cut & paste, tripping over themselves at first, then falling right into place with an undeniable swagger. Smooth & Rough at the same time. Certainly a trip, from the "in your face" style of the track Bitch to the deep funk dripping from Sweat. Almost as if Andre 3000 took some acid with Four Tet and they ended up making sweet, sweet music together.
