OMFG - Jersey Shore SpinOffs!

Last week Snooki & JWoww filmed a pilot for their spin-off show. The pilot was shot on Long Island. "What's really interesting...MTV wants a pilot. Considering Jersey Shore beat Grey's Anatomy in the ratings -- plus the fact you kinda know who these chicks are -- a pilot would seem unnecessary."
"Pauly D's spin-off will be called Pauly's World, and it revolves around the DJ's life on the road with his crew. 'The boys that Pauly hangs with are ‘Big Mike’ his road manager, Jerry his bodyguard, and Ryan – a buddy he grew up with, who has a really good business sense.'"

"Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino's sexist misogynist self thinks that he's the hottest thing on Jersey Shore when everyone knows that Snooki is. Mr. Spiked Hair comes in as a close second, followed by JWoww and Vinny. Mike is famous for his stage name, but he has no talent and grows more and more unlikable by the episode.
Mike is the new Speidi while Pauly D is Lauren Conrad."
Season 4 Update:
The cast is heading to ITALY to film the 4th season!

OMFG - Kardashian Silly Bands

"The ubiquitous brightly colored rubber bracelets will come in Kardashian-themed shapes: a letter K, a purse, a high heel, the logo of their store (Dash), a diamond ring, a perfume bottle, silhouettes of the three girls, and some really deformed looking lips. I can only wonder how many episodes into the season of Kourtney & Kim Take New York it’ll take until we see the sisters donning their own Silly Bandz." - Popwatch

Kardashian Interview on David Letterman, they mention the silly bands:

OM(usic)FG - Against Me!

Last Sunday night I had the opportunity to go see Against Me! the rough around the edges punk-rock band play at the Masquerade here in Atlanta. Yet no matter how thrilling Against Me! is the real treat was their opener Fences. Fences is singer Christopher Mansfield of Seattle, with his melancholy melodies, and guitar strumming, accompanied by a three piece band. These guys are re-inspiring the grunge city as well as showing the rest of the country that the music scene is certainly not dead in the northwest. I highly recommend their self titled CD co-recorded by Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara, this in depth interview, and these videos.

(interview by Alison Richter)

(video- "Same Tattoos" live in Seattle)
(Check out this video of them from GIVESEATLE.ORG, of course I'm a sucker for the Victorian-style setting, stand up bass, and bango, but this song is incredible as well, on the record Sara Quin sings.)
(OFFICIAL VIDEO for their song Girl's With Accents *EXPLICIT LYRICS FYI*)

OMFG - Jersey Shore Deleted Scene

Did anyone else notice the random person in the episode of Jersey Shore where Snooki was running down the boardwalk, shortly before getting arrested? Well, there was some person in a green shirt running after her along side JWOWW & Deena. The person can be seen in this deleted scene.
The mystery has been solved:

OM(usic)FG - 8 Yr. Old From ATL Goes Viral

This 8 year old rap sensation, from Atlanta, GA (Gwinett Co), is being compared to Justin Bieber. But he will have you know he went to the extent of cutting his hair, in the efforts to not be related to the BieberFever. This kid has created his own kind of fever on YouTube with over 4 million hits on all his videos. His cousin can be credited for helping him shooting the music videos that were even featured on FOX5 NEWS this evening, but MattyB is the lyricist for all his raps. He takes familiar songs, and adds his own spin and rap to them, to make them MattyB style. This young rapper has rubbed shoulders with the likes of Ryan Seacrest and Perez Hilton, but he has no plans currently for touring or making albums. Right now he is completely content just blowing up YouTube!

Motley Crue singer gets 2 week jail sentence

"LAS VEGAS — Motley Crue singer Vince Neil will take a plea deal and serve two weeks of jail time, plus two weeks of house arrest, for driving drunk in his Lamborghini last summer near the Las Vegas Strip. Neil's guilty plea won't be his first.  He pleaded guilty to manslaughter and drunken driving in a 1984 crash in Redondo Beach, Calif., that killed his passenger, Nicholas Dingley, a 24-year-old drummer with the group Hanoi Rocks.  Neil, then 25, wasn't injured. He served 20 days in jail and agreed to pay $2.5 million in restitution to victims."

Wanda Jackson - The Party Ain't Over

Shaboopie! Here's one way off my usual, beaten path. Country and bluegrass fans will recognize the name Wanda Jackson. She's back with her first studio album in 12years and Jack White helped her produce the release. Even at 73, she sounds extremely youthful and delivers an album with a few classics, several originals and a cover or two. The entire album is streaming on NPR until January 25th. After that, gotta go get your own!

OMFG(ood Cause)- NOH8 Campaign in Atlanta

NOH8 Campaign
The campaign started with portraits of everyday Californians who support Marriage Equality and soon rose to celebrities, military personnel, brothers and sisters, law enforcement, lesbian mothers, directors, politicians, newlyweds, and more. Photos feature subjects with duct tape over their mouths symbolizing their voices not being heard and "NO H8" painted on one cheek in protest.
We were so excited to have participated in the NOH8 campaign when it came through Atlanta yesterday, Jan. 16th.  It was our chance to add our faces to the pictures of many who support the campaign. It is so great to see it growing. Adam Bouska is an amazing photographer and it was a honor to have a picture taken by him. Check out some of the famous faces that have been a part of this:

OMFG - Beer Review Series - Maredsous 8

Lovely shade of mahogany but jet black held against the counter top. The head, crafted by the Duvel family, stands tall with a light brown retention that remains for the duration of the session.

The nose of the beer is super spiced and boozy that tickles the senses. Dubbels are “rich malty beers with some spicy / phenolic and mild alcoholic characteristics. Not as much fruitiness as the Belgian Strong Dark Ale but some dark fruit aromas and flavors may be present. Mild hop bitterness with no lingering hop flavors. It may show traits of a steely caramel flavor from the use of crystal malt or dark candy sugar. Look for a medium to full body with an expressive carbonation.(per BA)” The nose is rounded out by some burnt malts and toasted caramel.

This is a top 10 beer in my opinion and easily accessible in the Atlanta area year round, but since there is a 2 inch thick sheet of ice over the ground I don’t think you’ll be picking this up anytime soon unless you prepared properly. With that being said: taste is bitter chocolate nibs and coca followed by dark malt and toffee, perfect for the cold weather. The back end has boozy warmth that heats you to the core. Really enjoyable.

The brewery must have used a high-quality yeast strain that graduated near the top of its class in terms of clove and cinnamon spiciness. The final pour, especially, adds a spiced woodiness that is some kind of appealing. Dark fruit (figs soaking in chocolate liqueur and light molasses) is present as well.

The mouthfeel is full and creamy with very little carbonation as per the style.

The Maredsous 8 is an amazing beer. If you are a beer nerd or aspiring beer nerd please please please pick up a bottle @ your local OCBS (Old Crabapple Bottle Shop.) It will not disappoint, and could introduce you to a new world of Belgian beers.

OMFG(ossip) - Beiber's Lip Lock

Is Lil Beib a soon-to-be man-whore? / Splash News

Before Justin Bieber was cuddling up with Selena Gomez, this picture was snapped of him behind a hotel in Canada. Apparently the girl's friend took the picture of her lip lock with the teen star.
The 'friend'/photographer said, "Justin and my friend Michelle kissed behind the Four Seasons Hotel downtown a few months ago while he was in town for a concert. I didn't feel right about releasing it before, but now it's fine cuz it's been a while."
Just kidding about the man-whore part. Go ahead and get yours!

OMFG - Jersey Shore Vamp?

Being a fan of The Jersey Shore, I naturally am "friends" with JWOWW's public figure Facebook page.
Today I saw she posted this picture & for a second I forgot whose page I was on. I thought that JWOWW was Nina Dobrev "Elena" from The Vampire Diaires.
I never thought they looked similar & their personalities never reminded me of eachother.
BUT, what do you guys think? Celeb twin match!?
PS- I was especially intrigued by how their eyebrows were EXACTLY alike!

Some Jersey Shore trivia for you:
Have you ever wondered how the cast members (Snooki, JWOWW, The Situation) all got their nicknames? Well, they were their nicknames before the show started actually. "They were all ours to begin with. I got mine from an emcee in The Hamptons. It was a beach club that we used to go to called Neptune. When I started working there I got the name," says Miss Woww.

Yelle - Safari Disco Club

The new Yelle track is out! And as of now, you can download it for free off of the soundcloud!

As Atlanta and the Southeast shut down due to heavy snowfall and ice, I find that some of us are dealing with it better than others. Here @ OMFG, we have found that one of the best ways to deal with the snow is by drinking SNOW BEERS!! Our advice to those of you who are lucky enough to have stocked up on brew before the storm hit, is to go outside, find a pile of snow, and chill your cold brews while you dominate a snowball fight! It's the best & OMFG approved fun!

Mike Relm vs Mystery Guitar Man

Mike Relm remixes Mystery Guitar Man.
In a world of "remix" youtube videos, these guys are doing it right. Mike Relm is one of the early pioneers when it comes to remixing videos. As far as I can remember, he was one of the first to remix videos live. He recently remixed one of Mystery Guitar Man's videos:

Pretty neat I think.

OMFG - New Years / Brew Years - Beer Reviews

Hello everyone today is a great day. I woke up to the smell of roasted coffee and chocolate malts from the late night homebrew; the birds were chirping my wife commented on how “disgusting” the house smells. It is a great day. I finally recovered from the debauchery and fun we had on new years and wanted to post some of my reviews.
First off let me say thank you to everyone that stopped by on New Years Eve. I had a blast and a half. The night started in the cellar. I let one of my craft suds buddies take full control of the wheel and drive us on a craft beer journey. Here is where it all started.
I started with the Shorts Brewing Huma-Lupa Licious. From the website “Named after the hop flower Humulus Lupulus, this India Pale Ale style beer has enormous amounts of hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. With a very complex malt bill, flavors seem to meld with the hops to balance this ale and provide a ridiculous urge to sample more.

76 I.B.U.'s
16.8 deg. Plato
7.0% A.B.V.

I thought it was a very kind start to the evening. It was beautiful and golden in color with a thin white head that dissolves quickly.

The aroma is big juicy Grapefruit and citrus cascading down to piney hops and cracker malts.
The first sip uncovers many of the flavors on the nose with a powerful bitterness bite. The hops spike the palette and slosh over the tongue creating a nice prickle burn effect as they go down.
Mouthfeel was slightly thin for me and carbonation was high.

Drinkability is good. I polished it off in about 8 minutes. It wasn’t my favorite but it wasn’t the worst IPA I have ever drank. One day we will have distribution from Shorts in Atlanta, but until then I will use my underground method of gathering their amazing suds.
My craft suds bud Brad picked the second beer – Founders Backwoods Bastard. OUT – F-ing –STADNING. If I could end the review that way I would. This beer is world class and it’s a damn shame it doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

It pours dark with a reddish tinge. Has a beautiful billowy ivory head that remains for quite some time.
Smell is of bourbon barrels vanilla and coconut. Some roasted dark malts, caramel & toffee. Everything that is tasty. It has great balance for being such a big beer.

Sip. Bourbon up front followed by the caramel and malts of this beautiful Scotch Ale. Perfect balance
Thick creamy mouthfeel and light tingly carbonation makes this slow sipper perfect.
You couldn’t ask for a better beer. Definitely in my top 5 only one word to describe it: perfection in a glass.

Check out the rest of the night @
