OM(usic i love)FG - The People's Movement Of Rock

The best there ever was.

This was one of my favorite bands, and still is to this day. They are fun, energetic, and original. I don't really know how to describe their sound tho. I mean, sure they are rap-rock-pop-dance-techno-whatever. But at the core, they are something insanely special. On their major label debut SuperMercado they captured a sound that I had never heard before. The songs were so layered, and deep sounding. I mean, I don't think another album has come out that I could relate their sound to. Take in mind that SuperMercado was released in 1998.

I had the pleasure of seeing them back then. It was amazing. It was at an outdoor festival in Atlanta. I was blown away. How did they do it? How do they recreate that feeling? I was so amped up. Screaming at the top of my lungs, hoping to show them that I knew the music, knew all the words........but wait, who were all these people around me? Thats when it hit me that these guys were gonna make it. BIG. It was too perfect.

Their next album was supposed to be huge. Make them superstars. But their label folded, held the release. and it never hit. Here's the EPK for the follow up sophomore effort VOLUMIZER.

SInce then, they have released their final studio album Sexy Karate, and also broken up. They play some reunion shows from time to time, and my heart aches for their return.
