Preview: The Gift (Michael Woods Remix) - Way Out West

When I read that on March 15th, Deconstruction is releasing an EP of 'The Gift' by Way Out West 2010 remixes, I had to start pulling out the vinyl. I found my original 1996 release of 'The Gift' and of course couldn't stop there. Anyone wanna do an old skool progressive party?

"Kicking off the package is Way Out West’s own 2010 remix. Toughening up the original break based drums and adding a few new synth lines is all WOW needed to do to breath a second life in their ubiquitous track.
Gui Boratto’s remix takes the track into deep tech house territory.  Gui flips the track to a straight 4/4 beat, adding some organic percussion, side chained chords and his trademark warm distorted synths to create a truly euphoric groove.
Coming straight off the back of his to 2 remixes for the mighty deadmau5 (his last being Pete Tong’s Essential New Tune) Michael Woods aims straight for the main room.  Stabbing synths, rolling bass lines and a huge breakdown guarantee hands will most definitely be head for the air.
Hospital Records current golden boy Logistics turns out a liquid D’n’B roller, perfectly juxtaposing narly modulating bass and clattering drums with the beautiful pads and chords of the original.
Finally to round off the package, new comers Tek-One give us a Dubstep version with a difference, using circuit bent toys to make their basslines and synth sounds, they create something completely unique to them.
Killer remixes for every genre, but what else would you expect from Decon?"(source: risingdigital.co.uk)
