Scream (Unpopular Scenes Remix) - Michael & Janet Jackson

I have left you without a good beat to step to... and I hope you can forgive me. Holidays, new toys (super mario wii rulz!), and just needing a good break has kept me from thinking much about blogging. But fear not, I am still here for ya! And, could I let NYE pass without hooking you up with something??! Nah, never. So here's one more for an incredibly long year, cheers 2009.

OMFG: Carrie Underwood Disses Atlanta?!

While Miss Underwood was interviewing with Esquire magazine this past month, she was obvs sipping on some hater-ade & kinda dissed Atlanta.  She said: "Atlanta? Tough town.  It's hard to get people to show up for anything.  What do people do there?"
The question is.....why would she say that if most of her concerts here have sold out? It's also interesting to note that her 2010 tour lists her May 2nd tour stop as being in Augusta, GA? I don't think I've heard of big name musicians playing in Augusta before. Correct me if I'm wrong....

Rolling Stone can confirm that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has entered a rehab facility to treat an addiction to prescription painkillers. “With the help of my family and team of medical professionals I am taking responsibility for the management of my pain and am eager to be back on the stage and in the recording studio with my bandmates Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton and Brad Whitford,” the singer said in a statement.

Fever Ray

Fever Ray is nothing short of amazing. The voice of Karin Elisabeth Dreijer Andersson from The Knife is unmistakable and remarkable. The music is haunting and moves me. The videos are dark and powerful. I cannot help but to think there is something going on here that I have yet to comprehend. All I can tell you is that it is breathtaking and I've never heard anything like it before. It's like seeing your favorite scary movie for the first time. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Its not for everyone.

One of the comments on YouTube for the above video was "There are Ghosts in this video, you can
sense it."

I am on a search for the CD today, I will post again with pics of the artwork and such, if I can find it.

OMF(ashion)G - Audrey Hepburn's Wardrobe

Earlier this month in London, a collection of over 40 items of Audrey Hepburn's went on auction.  They sold for $437,800.  This was "more than double the pre-sale estimate, organizers said." Some of these items included dresses she had worn in different movies. "The collection was sold by Tanja Star-Busmann, a life-long friend of Hepburn's, and 50% of the net sale proceeds will be donated to The Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund."
You can make a donation or learn more about her fund at this website:

Disney options 'Fallen' books for film.

Disney has optioned rights to "Fallen," a young-adult novel by Lauren Kate that features angels.
My friend Marjorie got me an unreleased copy of this book as I enjoy reading supernatural romance books. So far, I've heard great reviews on this newly released novel!

The book, released in early December, is part of a four-tome series, all of which were included in the deal. The contemporary story centers on an alienated girl torn between two charismatic young men, unaware that they are fallen angels who have battled over her for centuries.

"Twilight" comparisons are inevitable, and angels have been identified as the next trend in young-adult fiction with vampire and werewolf tales having inundated the market. "Fallen" and titles like Becca Fitzpatrick's "Hush, Hush," which was moved from a 2010 publication date to this past October, present angels as otherworldly hotties who are immortal and possess bad-boy charm. "Fallen" is the first cherubic title to receive major Hollywood attention.

Alot of people are second guessing how Disney will do " Dark and seductive", when we are used to seeing "Cheery and bright" from them. Will Disney do this book justice? Or will they break the mold so to speak if they make this book come to life the right way. Guess we will wait and see, dates have not been released as to when this movie will come out but I am definatly looking forward to seeing how this pans out.

Here's a quick preview of what the book is about:

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.

OMFG: Charlie Sheen Arrested Again

This guy needs a new hobby.

Charlie Sheen was arrested in Colorado Christmas morning during a domestic violence incident.
He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, menacing and criminal mischief and was being held with no bond, according to a news release from the Aspen Police Dept. TMZ reports that Sheen told law enforcement that his wife, Brooke Mueller, was the aggressor and that he was just defending himself.

OMFG: Christmas Across The World

Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas everyone! I wanted to share with you some pictures of Christmas trees around the world. I thought it was interesting to see...

This first pic is of the world's largest x-mas tree display that rises up the slopes of Monte Ingino outside of Gubbio, in Italy. It is made up of about 500 lights connected by 40,000 feet of wire. The 'tree' is a modern marvel for an ancient city.

Even in it's humblest attire, aglow beside a tiny chapel in Germany's Karwendel mountains, a Christmas tree is a wondrous site.

Venice's Murano Island is home to the tallest glass tree in the world. Sculpted by master glass blower Simone Cenedese, the artist Christmas tree is a modern reflection of the holiday season.

A Christmas tree befitting Tokyo's nighttime neon display is projected onto the exterior of the Grand Prince Hotel.

In Paris, even the Christmas trees are chic! With its monumental dome, plus 10 stories of lights and high fashion, it's no surprise this show-stopping department stores draws more visitors than the Eiffel Tower.

Moscow celebrates Christmas according to the Russian Orthodox calendar on Jan. 7th.

Now, coming back home...the capitol tree in Washington, D.C., is decorated with 3,000 ornaments that are the handiwork of U.S. schoolchildren.

Finally, my personal favorite of the pics is from an unknown location.
I hope you all enjoyed! ~S

p.a.t.t. - Eclectica

Happy Christmahanukwanzaka!  This started out as a custom mix for a new friend, but as I was working on it I realized I needed to share this with all my friends. It's got a really chill first track, then it picks up with a couple breaks tracks, gets a lil funky and fun before Jams Dean gets on the mic with his word on 'chicago girls'. Then comes some sweet dubstep to rock the subs followed up with some rare d'n'b from the p.a.t.t. An eclectic mix of electronica... eclectica.

Envolver + Black Strip - Michael Woods

I stole this image off Michael Woods' myspace page. I normally wouldn't do that, but most of the pics I found of Michael searching images made him look like a douchebag.  I hope he's not a douchebag, because I like some of his housier stuff. With his remix of deadmau5's "Strobe", the "Yemba/Wobble" EP, and... a new EP "Envolver" dropping today, Woods is hot right now.

The A-side, "Envolver" is a solid Tech House track, but I favored the B-side, "Black Strip" myself.

OMFG - RIP Brittany Murphy

TMZ just reported:
Brittany Murphy died early this morning after she went into full cardiac arrest and could not be revived, multiple sources tell TMZ.
She was 32.

We're told Murphy was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

Sources tell TMZ Brittany Murphy's mom discovered her unconscious in the shower. We're told when paramedics arrived, they quickly determined Murphy was in full cardiac arrest and immediately administered CPR. They continued CPR in route to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center -- several miles away -- and Murphy was unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Yemba - Michael Woods & Ant Brooks + Dr Diego

Ready to shake off that cold weather? Wake up and stretch! That's what these new remixes of "Yemba" make me feel like. The Michael Woods remix has an awesome bassline, that sweet horn, and some great builds. Dr. Diego's mix is a little more electro with a funkier bassline. Both solid tracks, go pick 'em up on beatport.com!

These are also getting big support from Radio 1!

Are You Looking - Meat Katie vs. Friends Of Mine

"I know its a bit different to what i normal do......" is exactly what Mark Pember aka Meat Katie said about this track. Yeah, it's definitely a notch up the pop scale from Mark's usual productions. Its a cheeky Meat Katie refix of a track originally written by breakthrough Australian duo "Friends of  Mine" - one half of which is Lot49 recording artist Jono Fernandes who is most certainly a friend of ours!  It's definitely getting a lot of love on the comments, even being hailed as a crossover anthem!

Everybody Got Young - Popular Damage (Fukkk Offf Remix)

Popular Damage are back in the inbox, giving away a track from their latest EP "The Royal Fly". "Everybody Got Young" gets remix treatment from Fukkk Offf. Even though I'm finally starting to get tired of electro... I still liked this one. It's got the cute brit chick vocal, but kinda brooding bass-filled electro line. Good collab.

OMFG - Despicable Me

Sun To Me - Faithless (Emalkay Remix)

Really diggin this one lately. Some Faithless fans are definitely giving it a thumbs down because it's Faithless... rawked hard to a nasty dub bass line. I can understand their feelings. But I've been listening to Rollo & Sister Bliss since they worked on Pet Shop Boy's remix album 'Disco 2' and this is probably one of my favorite Faithless remixes. Thanks to Emalkay for giving this one away, watch out for more to come! (Thanks to GetDarker.com!)

Toll Tunnel Under East Atlanta Proposed By DOT

An idea for a new toll tunnel connecting GA 400 to I-675 was proposed by the DOT to private investors at a conference last week.  The tunnel would have an access point towards the downtown area but would eventually be a surface road closer to the south of the city towards I-675.  Although this is only a pitched idea, local communities are standing up and speaking out against it.  You can check out the full story here.
